Walnut/Ground Nut Shells
PZT-WGS-F walnut/ground nut shells are a ground agricultural byproduct, sized and graded as an LCM. The fibrous, resilient particles bridge and pack into fracture faces, providing mechanical plugging that resists erosion under continued mud circulation better than brittle mineral LCM. Tougher and more resilient under continued circulation than many mineral LCMs, and a naturally derived, low-cost byproduct material with a favorable biodegradability profile relative to permanent mineral bridging agents.

Pros

Cons & Limitations
- Not acid-soluble - carries the same permanent formation-damage risk as mica if used in a pay zone
- Can cause bit/nozzle erosion or plugging if not properly sized and screened
- Batch quality (contamination, moisture content) can vary by supplier
- Combustible dust in handling and transfer - standard dust-control PPE and housekeeping required
Fine GradePZT-WGS-F
Finest cut of the graded range. Bridges narrow fractures and higher-permeability matrix where coarser grades would not enter the loss zone.
Medium GradePZT-WGS-M
Mid-range cut, the general-purpose grade for moderate fracture widths. Most common starting point when the loss-zone aperture is not well characterised.
Granular GradePZT-WGS-G
A coarser cut sized specifically for wider fracture-bridging applications than the fibrous grade. Same mechanical resilience benefits as the finer nut-shell grades.
MixPZT-WGS-X
Blended fine, medium and granular cuts, giving a broader particle-size distribution for loss zones of uncertain or mixed aperture.
