Roller Oven
PZT-LAB-RO

Fluids degrade with time at temperature, not on contact with it. A static oven applies heat but no motion, which misses how a system actually behaves while circulating. This oven rotates five precision-balanced roller tubes inside a heated chamber, so samples in sealed cells see heat and continuous agitation together. Eight cells run at once, which is what makes it useful for comparison work — four formulations against four controls, same thermal history, one run. Chamber, rollers and shell are SS 316 throughout for chloride brine and oil-based mud resistance.
Applications
- Dynamic hot rolling to simulate circulating thermal exposure
- Rheology, filtrate, emulsion stability and sag resistance after aging
- Additive concentration optimisation for HP/HT stability
- Base oil and brine selection
- Shale and cuttings dispersion testing
Safety Notes
- Airtight door lock contains heat and prevents thermal leakage during high-temperature runs
- Dual thermometers and audible alerts for unattended monitoring
- Allow cells to cool before handling after a run
